Mr.Kunt provides consulting services and training to SMEs on strategic management, brand development, marketing, value creation, innovation, organizational restructuring, value chain development and new business model generation. In addition, he trains chambers of commerce, State Institutions and Regional Development Agencies in Cluster Development Mr. Kunt works with UNIDO for more than a decade in various countries and sectors in cluster development, networking, innovation and internationalization of SMEs. The coaching course was a great opportunity for me to refresh on many of the business management principles. The knowledge is relevant and will go a long way to help every participant (trainee/ beneficiary) who plans to take the it further to provide quality business management guidance to any SME they have the opportunity to support. Employing the remote approach to the coaching is also timely as the COVID 19 situation continues to evolve, resulting in uncertainties about physical engagements/ meetings in a world where more than ever, quality and safe products are expected from SMEs by an increasingly isolating global population due to fear of contracting the COVID infection. For the SME owner (Lilypat) my team supported, it provided the opportunity for her also to reflect on many of her plans and routine decisions. Additionally, it gave her better insight into her own business. She is happy to continue with the coaching exercise so as to reap the full benefits of the support.

Generally, the training programme was very successful. As a Fruit value chain expert and Project designer, I had inadequate knowledge and skills in coaching SMEs encountered over the years. But, this training gave me a clear road map as to what to do to help SMEs become competitive by building their capacity to access finance and global market. In the future, I want the UNIDO-WACOMP team to include a module on supply chain transparency and developing of a culture of quality by SMEs in order for them to meet emerging export market requirements.
